State Championships, and Easter

Published Fri 15 Apr 2022

Unfortunately, due to factors out of our control, the main ones being a lack of time on the water to properly prepare due to prolonged periods of bad weather and unsafe water conditions and the other being lack of sufficient numbers, the board has decided not to enter a crew in this year’s State Championships.

DBNSW are holding an online meeting tonight with all clubs to discuss where, when and if the State championships will be held this year as SIRC along with some alternate venues are closed for exactly the same reasons.

With this event being the last official regatta of the season, we will put a temporary pause on training sessions until the river conditions and water quality improve.

Tonight’s training as well as this coming Saturday and Tuesday are cancelled to allow the river to clean up . Once we get back on the river it would be great to regularly see more numbers at training, regular participation is key to the club’s success and growth.

The board will meet in the coming week to discuss a training schedule for the winter period and schedule a “social paddle” and lunch to both rap up a very noneventful season but launch into the 22/23 season.

We are also making plans to enter crews in this year’s Pan Pac games to be held on the gold coast in November, so don’t pack away your paddle just give it a little rest before a big year ahead.

Enjoy your Easter an update will be sent end of next week
