AGM update

A big thank-you to all the members who attended the AGM last night at Club Menai. In summary, there were only 5 of last years Directors that re-nominated so constitutionally all 5 were re-elected unopposed.

After the re-election of the board the meeting was opened to all attendees for General Business. Many topics were covered, including an increase in social events, induction of new members, possible relocation of the club premises and much more. Be assured that the board has taken notes and will address all items at its first meeting.

It was great to then see so many members stay on for dinner in the bistro after the meeting.

In line with the constitution and casual vacancies on the board, we would like to welcome Trena Tarrant to the Board in the position of Secretary.

Your Board for the Year 22/23 is

  • Chair - David McFadden
  • Treasurer - Tracey Francis
  • Secretary - Trena Tarrant
  • Director - Sean Harran
  • Director - Harry Tran
  • Director - Edgar Francis

A season calendar will be circulated after the boards first meeting.

Regatta One

To be held on 4th September at Rodd Point over 200m along with a distance race. The Club would like to see as many members as possible come along to compete at this Regatta. We would envisage competing across all categories from Juniors to Senior B but can only do that if members commit to competing on the day.

Full details of the event can be seen here: https://www.dbnsw.org.au/events/146971/

If you would like to be part of this fun day please RSVP on Team App now.

Social Event Number one for the season

After such a fun filled day at the winter warmer that finished with a meal and a drink at the conclusion of racing , we would like to invite all members both competing or not on the 4th of September to join us at the Canada Bay Club from approximately 5pm for a drink, a meal, laughs and giggles about the day's successes, almosts and what ifs. This event will be on Team App by the end of the weekend but throw the date in the diary and join us for what will hopefully become an after-regatta tradition for SPD

Looking forward to a fantastic season ahead. Get yourself down to training.

The more we have the more we can do.

Best Regards

Dave
